So I saw similar threads comparing between Sony's GM ii and Tamron's 70-180 older version. Now that Tamron's newer version gonna be released on the 12th of October I really don't know what to do here and which lens should I buy.
This is one of the nicest feeling lenses from Canon yet. It comes with a lens hood which continues with the new textured style we have seen on the 100mm f2.8 IS Macro and the 70-200 f2.8 L IS II and it also comes with the usual lens pouch. Noticeable in it’s absence though is a tripod collar and frankly I think this is unforgivable.
I've used both, the RF 70-200 f4 is remarkably better as far as image quality. Used you should be able to get one used for $1400-1500. You can get the EF 70-200 2.8 L ii for around the same price with an adapter but it's substantially larger and heavier for just a little more bokeh/lower ISO. IMO the RF 70-200 f4 is the way to go.
My nonIS 2.8 is broken and might like that as a replacement. The RF 70-200 2.8 launched at a smidge less than 25% more than the most recent EF 70-200 2.8 did.
