Aspectratio doesn’t describe actual size, as a 16:9 ratio could be 16 inches wide by 9 inches tall, or 16 feet wide and 9 feet tall. The numbers only describe the proportions. Although it’s not in the scope of this article, movies and film sometimes also use what’s known as cinema terminology to express aspect ratios, such as 1.85:1 MonitorAspect Ratios Compared 4:3 vs. 16:9. When viewing content, 4:3’s fullscreen experience yields a more ‘box-like’ display, while 16:9’s widescreen results in a letter-shaped appearance. In total, 4:3 gives newer media a feeling of being cropped, while 16:9 results in black bars manifesting on the top and bottom of the screen. 16:9
Forsome video and device aspects ratios like 9:16 vertical videos on computer browsers, YouTube may add more padding for optimal viewing. The padding is white by default, and dark gray when Dark theme is turned on. For best results, avoid adding padding or black bars directly to your video. Padding interferes with YouTube’s ability to change
Theidea of an ultra-wide screen is very appealing but I'm not quite sold on 21:9 or 32:9 vs getting a larger 16:9. For reference, I currently have a BenQ EX3203R 32 Inch and use my computer for a mixture of gaming and office work. My plan is to get the Neo this year and have fun with 32:9 (because I haven't had that aspect ratio before
ButI think you misunderstand that 16:9 is primarily liked because it is the native aspect ratio. The smaller fov is more a disadvantage of 4:3 than an advantage of 16:9. People don't play 16:9 because of the higher fov, but because it's native and they dislike 4:3. I think the whole argument is overblown as well.

Whether16:10 or 16:9 got more pixels out of the aspect ratio cut was an arbitrary move by the industry. There is no reason 16:10 had to get more pixels than 16:9 - or that 16:9 had to get less pixels than 16:10 more accurately - other than 1080p movies and perhaps slicing existing panel sizes down slightly to save money.
