Ceske Budejovice (half day or combine with Český Krumlov), Hradec Kralove (half day), Karlovy Vary (2 days), Kutna Hora (1 day), Brno (1 day), Pilsen (half day), Ostrava (maybe 1 day. Public transport here isn't great and the train stations can be confusing). Dresden (1 day). I would give Prague itself at most 3 days which still feels like a lot.
With our current itinerary, we have 5 nights in Prague, so 4 full days. Are we shortchanging Prague? Maybe spending too much time there? Reply Dec 1st, 2010, 02:18 PM #2
Day 1-2: Prague. When it comes to kicking off your Czech Republic itinerary, it really makes the most sense to begin in Prague. Not only is it the transport hub of the country – so likely the easiest place to get to by plane, train or coach (learn more in the travel guide at the end of this post) – it’s also a massive bucket list tick on the euro circuit!

Olya and I filled 10 days in October, no problem. Do some city walking/exploring, throw in a river cruise, some shopping, a museum, an opera, and a couple of day trips (Kutna Hora and Dresden are exciting day trips), and your week will be gone. Budapest is a bit too far. 4.
